59 days locked down and counting. There are many ways of being caged, confined, tethered, physically and fearfully. Many layers and structures have emerged in these temporary spaces. But just how temporary are they? We’re all navigating, going from ‘getting back to normal’ to ‘moving on to the new normal’ to ‘what is normal anyway?’ Negotiations are ongoing, decisions are sometimes arbitrary, sometimes collaborative, sometimes so woolly that they can hardly be seen as decisions anyway. Still we have little choice other than to keep on keeping on. Looking at the immediate future from behind these bars is hard to do meaningfully. Now we know how animals feel, captive or hounded.
